Jeff Simmons joined the faculty of Oklahoma Christian University in August 2008 and is currently serving as the Dean of the College of Business Administration. Dr. Simmons has over 20 years experience in higher education. His teaching career began in Vienna, Austria, where he served on the faculty of International Christian University between 1994 and 1995.
Prior to joining the academy, his professional experience includes automobile marketing and sales; retail management; and working at the U.S. Department of Commerce in the International Trade Administration. His work in the professional field continues, most recently serving as consultant to a firm in the Shandong Province of China.
Dr. Simmons views his calling to be one that prepares students to glorify God by being successful business leaders. To do this, he challenges his students to not settle for mediocrity and strive for excellence in thought and deed. In 2014, Dr. Simmons was honored with the OC Faculty Leadership Award. In addition to his teaching and administrative duties, Dr. Simmons also leads the OC Ethics Debate team, which has experienced much success at the state, regional and national level.
In his free time, Dr. Simmons enjoys spending time with his wife, Pattie, and his son, Jordan as well as reading from several genres of literature and playing golf, basketball and swimming. Dr. Simmons has travelled to 48 U.S. states and 40 foreign countries on 4 continents. Many of those trips involved Dr. Simmons leading students in study abroad programs or Christian mission campaigns.
