Students From Across the Country Recipients of Scholarships From Four Star Leadership With General Tommy Franks

For Immediate Release: July 27, 2020

Four Star Leadership with General Tommy Franks is proud to announce that 11 students from across the country have been awarded a cumulative $22,000 in scholarships. The students were awarded scholarships for writing, speech and ethics competitions.
 
  • Marion “Harper” Ray of Fayetteville, North Carolina, won first place in the Writing Category and was awarded a $5,000 scholarship.
  • Conner Truitt of Buena Vista, Colorado, won second place in the Writing Category and was awarded a $2,500 scholarship.
  • Stephen “Cross” Fuller of Lenoir City, Tennessee, won first place in the Speech Competition and was awarded a $5,000 scholarship.
  • Setara Khan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, won second place in the Speech Competition and was awarded a $2,500 scholarship.
  • Sasha Coffin of Hobart, Oklahoma; Akash Mahajan of San Marcos, California; Zachariah Street of Mesa, Arkansas; Kalia Reece of Spring Valley, California; Andrew Boylan of Irving, Texas; Alexandria Hall of Flint, Texas; and Catherine Liu of Anaheim, California, participated on the winning Ethics Competition team and were each awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
 
“We are honored to assist the world’s brightest high school students with leadership capabilities and confidence as they make important steps toward their collegiate careers,” said retired Gen. Tommy Franks. “We are confident that these awards are just the first step in a long journey of future triumphs for these leaders of tomorrow.” 
 
This year’s program was held virtually with 88 high school students from around the world participating. Students learned leadership techniques from frontrunners in various fields including politicians, dignitaries and star athletes. Participants also expanded upon their skills through the individual persuasive speech and writing competition as well as collaboratively in an ethics competition.

Four Star Leadership with General Tommy Franks is a world-class leadership program developed as a partnership between the General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum and Oklahoma Christian University.
