DR. WILLIAM STEELE

Dr. William Steele is an Associate Professor of English. He earned his bachelor's in English and Speech Communication from Lipscomb University. He went on to earn his master's in English from Middle Tennessee State University, and his PhD in Literature and Criticism from Indian University of Pennsylvania.

Before coming to Oklahoma Christian, Dr. Steele taught English and coached track and cross country at Cascade College in Portland, Oregon. His academic interests are American Literature, Mark Twain, Civil War history and literature, political history, and cultural studies.

Dr. Steele's first book on baseball and identity in W.P. Kinsella's fiction is due out later this year through McFarland Publishers. His outside interests are running, exploring Civil War battlefields and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
