Four Star Leadership with General Tommy Franks Applications Due Soon for 2018 Summer Program

Four Star Leadership with General Tommy Franks is accepting applications through April 16 for its world-class summer leadership program to be held July 8-13. The General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum, in conjunction with Oklahoma Christian University, offers this once in a lifetime opportunity to 70 of the top performing high school students from around the world, free of charge.
 
The speakers for this year’s Four Star Leadership program will be Brian Bush, CEO of the Altus Chamber of Commerce; Master Sgt. Jeffery Cavallaro, Flight Chief 97 SF Squadron Altus AFB; Martin L. Edelman of Counsel to Paul, Hastings, Janofsky and Walker LLP; Jet McCoy, former Amazing Race contestant; Allen West, president and CEO of the National Center for Policy Analysis; Mo Anderson, Vice Chairman of Keller Williams Realty; Sen. Mike Schultz, majority floor leader of the Oklahoma Senate; Oklahoma Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb; Michele Smith, two-time Olympic Softball Gold Medalist; Warren Martin, speaker, author and consultant of On-Core Leadership; Scott DeWald, CEO of REI Oklahoma; Dr. John deSteiguer, president of UCO; Joe Crookham, president of Musco Lighting; Trent England, vice president for Strategic Initiatives of the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs; Kelsey Koberg, Four Star Leadership alumni; D’Lese Travis, executive director of the General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum and retired Army Gen. Tommy Franks.
 
“Four Star Leadership focuses on the development of students who will become tomorrow’s leaders,” said Franks. “We look forward to our speaker lineup and programming every year, however, this year is special. This particular group of professionals is providing students with real-life advice from a variety of industries, preparing them for successful futures.”
 
Program curriculum is designed around the four core principles of the four stars of leadership: character, common vision, communication and caring. Attendees will have a chance to earn more than $30,000 in scholarships, learn life-changing lessons and receive endorsements and recommendations to future positions of leadership.
 
Applications and nominations for Four Star Leadership 2018 are being accepted now through April 16. School counselors, coaches, scouting leaders and directors of youth programs are encouraged to nominate young leaders in their organization. Four Star Leadership with General Tommy Franks is a world-class leadership program developed as a partnership between the General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum and Oklahoma Christian University.
